Every Growing Christian Needs a Place to Go.

(Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8)

We believe that if a Christian is not "going" in their walk with the Lord, they will get stuck spiritually. Like the Dead Sea, if we don't have an outlet, we can become stale, stagnant, and spiritually dead. Jesus' last words to his disciples were to "go."

"Go and make disciples of all nations..."  (Jesus) Matthew 28:19

In Greek, the verb tense for the word "go" indicates that Jesus assumes we will go. It could easily be translated "since you are going" or (in a more cotton-patch rendering) "bein' as how you're gonna' go..." Going is a part of the Christian life. But where are we to go? In Acts 1:8 Jesus says:

You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  (Jesus) Acts 1:8

Every Christian, every church, needs to take part in going out to share their faith in the world. And in the body of Christ, we work together to strategically free up some among us to do what we can't do ourselves. Every Christian and every church needs to understand where their Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and "ends of the earth" are for them. Every Christian and every church needs a home base to live out their faith (Jerusalem). Every Christian and every church needs to go do something with their surrounding region (their Judea). Every Christian and every church needs to impact people on the other side of the tracks with those who are different from them (Samaria). And every Christian and every church needs to contribute in some way to making a difference in someplace they'd never go unless Christ commanded them to go (to the ends of the earth). Whether it's across the street or around the world, we will encourage one another to "go" and share the good news of Christ to the world.
